| Julia Hill's giclee prints are reproduced from her original paintings. The paintings are created by using acrylic paints mixed to a watercolour consistency and applied to a plaster coated surface. The thin layer of plaster quickly absorbs the paint creating a patchy, distressed effect. By building up many layers of paint, the texture of the plaster becomes apparent giving the finished work an 'ancient' fresco appearance.
Julia's work has a very illustrative style, often using a flat,naive perspective. Some of her images are borne entirely of her own imagination, but many are based on the landscape and cityscape vistas that are familar in her west country surroundings, but with a good helping of imagination and artists' license! The following images are all printed using light fast inks on archival papers. Each print is presented in a white acid free hinge mount and this is included in the prices shown.
